Short Biography

Prof. (Dr.) Himansu Sekhar Behera is currently working as a Professor, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Formar Dean (PGS&R), Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) - An Unitary Technical University, (Established by Govt. of Odisha), Burla, Odisha, India. He has received M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from National Institute of Technology (N.I.T), Rourkela ,Odisha, India and Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering (Ph.D.) from Biju Pattnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Govt. of Odisha, India respectively. His research and development experience includes over 22 years in Academia spanning different Technical Institutes in India. His research interest includes Data Mining, Soft Computing, Evolutionary Computation, Machine Intelligence & Distributed System. He has Authored/Co-authored over 100 research papers in reputed International Journals/Conferences and Book Chapters. He has edited 11 books and serves as an Associate Editor / Member of the Editorial / Reviewer Board of various international journals and also guest edited 08 special issues on various topics of Inderscience and IGI Global Journals. He has successfully awarded eleven (11) Ph.D Scholars in the area of Data Mining, evolutionary computation, machine learning, Time Series forecasting using Soft Computing Techniques, and IoT and currently six Ph.D scholars are continuing under his guidance. He has been associated as a Senior Member, Life Member in various recognized national and International societies, such as ISTE, India, AIAER, India, ISTD, India, OITS, Odisha, India, OMS, Odisha, India, ISOC, Kolkota Chapter ,India, SDIWC, IACSIT, Singapore, IAENG, Hong Kong, UACEE, CSTA, USA , etc.
